At USAG Humphreys Child Development Center (CDC), we know you entrust to us with that which you hold most dear: your children. That’s a commitment we don’t take lightly, and we strive every day to earn, and to keep, your confidence.
Today’s op-tempo presents a special challenge for Army families. We understand that personal resources can become stretched, and “battle fatigue” is all too real – not just for the uniformed soldier, but for families, as well.
CYS Services is committed to serving the unique needs of USAG Humphreys families through a variety of programs designed for children ages six-weeks through 18 years. All services are based on the growth and development of your child, and meet both US Army and national standards. Our seamless delivery system ensures that the same caring philosophy is followed by our dedicated staff in every program and service we offer.
Services: Services are offered for the following programs:
Full Day Care
Part-day Preschool 2 Day or 3 Day Programs
Hourly Care
Strong Beginnings and Kindergarten
Kindergarten Camp
Program Descriptions: Infant and Toddler program: Program tailor for children age from 6 weeks – 36 months and are placed in either infant and toddler rooms according to age, development and space availability within the rooms. By grouping children in multiage settings, we hope to create a place where children can remain with the teacher for a longer timeframe, have fewer transitions and establish a bond with the primary caregivers in his/her room. Every effort is made to place children in the best possible room according to his or her individual needs.
Preschool Program: The preschool age classrooms provide many opportunities to develop and learn through a variety of experiences, activities, and materials. The USAG-H Child Development Center uses the Creative Curriculum as a framework for planning the daily schedule and activities for children. Through ongoing observations and interactions, teachers are able to identify developmental points in the children’s development of social, emotional, cognitive, language, and motor areas. They use observations to plan activities that enhance the children’s learning in these areas. We view this as a continuum of ongoing development in which children grow and progress at their individual times and rates. The preschool program is designed to prepare a child for school and life success.
Strong Beginnings: Our Strong Beginnings program is our entrance level to formal elementary education program. All students enrolled in Strong Beginnings program should be 4 years of age by September 1, of the current school year. This program is academic focus and an introduction to a formal school setting, students will learn daily routines and procedures that will ease the transition into kindergarten, while learning about them and their world around them.
